Lorraine Powell

My main motivation in this career change from the medical profession, in which I had been employed for the past 12 years, was job satisfaction! My husband, David, had been selling Real Estate since 1990. I watched with great envy as he dove into his work day with zest and enthusiasm while I dragged myself through various shifts in a medical lab that was embroiled in both political red-tape and employee mismanagement. When, as the result of a middle management "downsizing" within the laboratory, I was offered a severance package to give up my position, I jumped for joy and headed to the Winnipeg Real Estate Board!

I have immensely enjoyed my new career ever since. I receive enormous satisfaction especially when working with buyers. There's nothing more gratifying than finding that perfect home for my clients. Comments like, "This is exactly what I wanted!" and "I just love this!" are what keep me motivated.

Perhaps the reason that I'm able to align so well with my buyers is my patience and my intuitive understanding of people's needs and desires. I continue to show my clients homes that meet their general criteria until they find the one that is exactly right for them. I've shown my clients as many as fifty homes and as few as one. I encourage my clients to view as many homes as possible so that they can get a better feel for the market and develop an understanding of market values in the various areas of the city in which they are looking.

Careers in Real Estate provide Dave and I with flexibility in our schedules so that we're able to maximize both our work time and our family time. When the Real Estate market heats up and our schedules collide with appointments, we're able to help each other out by taking each other's clients on appointments. It's extremely important to our clients that we are available at a moments notice when they need us.

If you are thinking of buying Real Estate - be it your first home, your fourth home, a revenue property or if you're building a brand new home - give me a call.

I am Lorraine Powell and I want to work for you!
